<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/cookingforcultureco/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><u>Cooking for Culture</u></a>, a community bake sale launched by local organizers, is excited to announce the lineup of participating vendors for its second annual event on Sunday, August 23, from 10 a.m. until goods sell out, at Joyride Brewing (2501 Sheridan Blvd, Edgewater, CO 80214).</p><p>The Cooking for Culture community bake sale will feature a variety of baked goods from local food vendors, bakeries, and restaurants. One hundred percent of proceeds will benefit <a href="https://www.kaizenfoodrescue.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><u>Kaizen Food Rescue</u></a>, a Denver-based nonprofit founded on the principle that food is a human right, and the <a href="https://www.rmian.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><u>Rocky Mountain Immigration Advocacy Network</u></a> (RMIAN), which provides free immigration legal and social services to children and detained adults in need.</p>

<p>Join us for the second annual <strong>Cooking for Culture Community Bake Sale</strong>—a celebration of the recipes, traditions, and cultures that immigrant and refugee communities have brought to Colorado.</p><p><strong>Trần Nguyễn-Wills — Denver City Council District 2 candidate, daughter of Vietnamese refugees, and community outreach worker for the City of Denver — will table at Cooking for Culture, sharing Know Your Rights kits for immigrant and refugee neighbors. <p>This group print show is our form of protest.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.plannedparenthood.org/planned-parenthood-rocky-mountains" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> <strong>Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) </strong></a>has shown up for patients across Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico for decades, and this show is our way of standing with them.</p><p>Every movement needs artists. Before policy changes, before people show up to a march, someone makes the image that moves them to go. Art builds the will to fight, and gives people something to hold onto long after the protest ends.</p><p>We dream of a future where marches, sign-making, and this fight for basic human rights are no longer necessary. Until then, every print sold goes straight to PPRM, funding the health care, education, and advocacy this fight depends on.</p>

<p>Join us Sunday afternoon, September 6th from 12pm to 3pm at our house in Harvey Park. Co-hosted with my neighbor <a href="https://www.instagram.com/shelvedbyamanda/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Shelved by Amanda</strong></a><strong> </strong>and <strong>Janey Le </strong>of <a href="https://www.instagram.com/hi.moffeecoffee" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Moffee Coffee</strong></a>, an AANHPI woman owned matcha and coffee pop-up based here in Denver.</p><p><strong><em>Bring up to 3 gently used cookbooks and take home up to 3 new ones</em></strong>. Meet other cookbook lovers and swap the stories tucked inside those pages.</p><p>Cooking together, sharing a meal, gifting a book. These have always been small acts of resistance. Someone chose those words. Someone decided they mattered enough to write down. Right now, books are being pulled off shelves and voices are being silenced. A cookbook may look simple, but it holds culture, heritage, and memory, proof that what matters to us doesn't vanish, it gets carried forward. Food and knowledge are sacred, and every recipe we exchange is an act of generosity and preservation.</p><p>Space is very limited, so <a href="https://secure.actblue.com/donate/tranfortwocookbookswap" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>reserve your spot</strong></a><strong> </strong>soon. A $20 donation is suggested to support the campaign.</p><p>Your visit includes coffee and matcha from Moffee Coffee and pastries, plus a chance to hear about my vision for District 2 and to be in community together.</p>

<p><strong>Annual Community Spa Day</strong> at 14th &amp; Bannock, a full day of rest and pampering for our unhoused neighbors, with volunteers offering facials, foot scrubs, manicures, haircuts, massage, and music. People deserve dignity, care, and joy, no matter their circumstances. I was once unhoused myself and this is how I continue to show up for others — the way people once showed up for me. We're providing BASE COAT non-toxic mini manicures again this year.
