Cà Phê & Community

Far southwest Denver has its own Little Saigon. After 1975, Vietnamese refugees rebuilt their lives along the Federal Boulevard corridor, and the pho restaurants, markets, and family run shops from that community are still there today. Harvey Park sits in that same corner of the city, and that's no accident.

Cà Phê & Community is hosted by Tran Nguyen-Wills, candidate for Denver City Council District 2, who wanted a real way to meet her neighbors, not just a lawn sign. So she's opening her own home once a month until election day.

In Vietnam, coffee was never about the coffee. Tiny stools on the sidewalk, a phin dripping slow, a conversation that outlasted the cup.

Just phin coffee brewed one cup at a time, matcha whisked by hand, tea steeped by the pot, and a record playing front to back. It's slow on purpose, because the things worth doing usually are.

Come sit a while. Bring a book, a craft project, or a record from your own shelf. Meet a neighbor, and meet Tran. Stay longer than you meant to.

Every second Sunday, 9 AM to 1 PM, starting October 11 through election day. This is what a third space feels like.
